The much awaited talking menu set-top box developed by the UK’s Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) is available for pre-order.
It has been renamed the Goodman’s Smart Talk set-top box and retails for £100. The set-top box only works in the UK and is expected to be delivered in August 2010.
A quick review of the set-top box at Sight Village is included in the latest edition of the BBC Podcast of In Touch: News for Blind People from BBC Radio 4. This also includes an interview with UK Communications Minister Ed Vaizey about audio description levels.
