Latest figures on audio described DVDs – May 2010

Audio described DVD titles on new release shelves during the month of May 2010 stand at 29% of all titles.  

The DVD titles released since February with audio description are:

  • All About Steve
  • Amelia
  • Avatar
  • Bad Lieutenant
  • Blood Creek
  • Brothers Bloom, The
  • Cloudy
  • Did You Hear About the Morgans?
  • Fifty Dead Men Walking
  • Fourth Kind, The
  • Informant, The
  • Jennifer’s Body
  • Lovely Bones, The
  • Mao’s Last Dancer
  • Miss March
  • Motherhood
  • Sherlock Holmes
  • Shorts
  • Surrogates
  • Twilight Saga: New Moon
  • Up In the Air
  • Where the Wild Things Are
  • Zombieland

54% of the Australian Visual Software Distributors Association (AVSDA) members’ theatrical releases on the DVD shelves in May were audio described.  

A total of 89 titles were researched this month. Of these titles, the following were audio described in other regions but not in Australia:

•    An Education and Broken Embraces from Paramount, It's Complicated from Universal and Planet 51 from Sony.
